Frequently recorded questions
The answers below are general information; your specific matter requires a consultation.
What is the deadline to sue against an administrative act?
Unless a special law sets another period, the deadline is sixty days before the Council of State (Danıştay) and the administrative courts, and thirty days before the tax courts (Article 7 of the Turkish Code of Administrative Procedure, İYUK); as a rule it runs from written notification.
What does a stay of execution mean?
A decision that an act which is clearly unlawful, and whose implementation would cause damage that is difficult or impossible to remedy, is not to be applied until the case is decided (İYUK Article 27).
What happens if I apply to the administration and receive no answer?
If the application is not answered within thirty days it is deemed refused, and the deadline to sue starts to run from that date (İYUK Article 10).
